Saddle
Mountain Freehike & El Dorado Hot Springs
Only three naturists
attended, but still we had a great time.
Amy, Joel, and I drove
down to Saddle Mountain Tuesday February 27th. The weather was ‘perfect’ - sunny, in the
mid-60s. Walking naked up a dirt road, near
the base of Saddle Mountain felt great, the sun with a slight breeze
encompassing our entire bodies (except feet of course). The hike was moderately easy. The scenery was marvelous!
We stopped occasionally
to take photos of the scenery and our naked selves. The poppies were blooming. A circular natural-bridge could be seen near the
top of a hill. It was a special place and
memory.
After hiking for several
miles, we returned to the car and then stopped at El Dorado Hot Springs for a
naked soak. This was our first visit. Matt (the owner) checked us in. Birds and even pigs were in the entrance
yard. The naked area was separated from
other soaking and camping areas. The
cost was only $10 for the hour we needed to relax our muscles. The natural hot spring water was clear,
though I understand it contains healthy minerals. The natural temperature was about 102 degrees
– perfect for a long soak. The naked area
contained two group tubs, and five single tubs.
We enjoyed talking with several other guys who were soaking, even on a
Tuesday.
After soaking, we stopped
for a burger lunch.
All in all, we had a
wonderful day freehiking near Saddle Mountain and soaking a El Dorado Hot Springs. Those who couldn’t attend definitely missed
something special. We would recommend
this trip to everyone – maybe in the future.
Here is what other
attendees said:
“After a
nice easy and scenic hike in the desert of about 3 or 4 miles we went to
Eldorado Hot Spring and were pleased the entrance fee was only $10 per hour. The temperature of the pools were at an
awesome 102 deg. An hour was all we
needed! On the way home we had dinner at
historic Rock Springs Cafe! What a great
day!” – Joel
“After
spending 5 days snowbound in our home, this day was just what the doctor
ordered! The sun was shining, the
temperature was perfect, the wildflowers were blooming, and the mountains were
beautiful. Naked hikes allow me to fully
experience life through ALL of my senses. The freedom of feeling the sun and the breeze
on my entire body is indescribably delicious! Drinking in the beauty and sounds (it was
blissfully quiet) of my surroundings while naked causes me to feel at one with
nature. Relaxing in the hot tub at El
Dorado Hot Springs was a nice addition to our day. This is a day I definitely would love to
repeat and be able to share with many more of you.” - Amy
