“We aren’t exposed to a full variety of naked bodies,
so our ideas about what’s normal or beautiful—they become distorted. And
certain bodies become privileged in our culture while most bodies are
denigrated. . . So the naturist movement strives to serve as an antidote to
harmful cultural messages about the body, and to provide experiences that
correct our misconceptions.” – Evan, http://www.humanistexperience.com/podcast/episode4/transcript/

“I saw the movie ‘The Bucket List’ and it made me
think of my own bucket list. One of the
things I had always wanted to do was visit a nude resort. I had swum nude in Lake Mead often and a few
other places and liked the feeling of freedom you get being nude. I decided to find a nearby nudist facility and
visit. . . I went alone to Mountaindale Sun Resort. The host was very friendly and explained the
rules and gave me a quick tour. I could
not wait to get undressed and join the people at the pool. I really enjoyed my visit and went back a few
more times. The pool, hiking trails, spa
and grounds are a great place to spend time.
Being nude felt so natural I quickly embraced the concept. My wife does not share my enthusiasm so my
opportunities to visit are reduced. My
times at the nudist resort are some of the most relaxing and enjoyable
recreation I have ever done. I am certainly
glad I acted on fulfilling one of the items on my ‘bucket list.’ I found fellow nudists to be a very friendly
crowd.” - Wayde D., Oregon, http://aanr.com/first-time-nudist-experience&page=95

“Won’t children become more
sexually promiscuous? Naturists teach
that nudity is not related to sexuality.
We believe that naturism is an effective way to combat the overly
sexualized society we currently live in.
Naturist children learn that the body is not to be objectified. Unlike people whose first exposure to
genitals is through pornography, naturists learn that all parts of the human
body are normal. In general, there is overwhelming
evidence that education leads to lower teenage pregnancies and lower incidence
of sexually transmitted disease among young people.” - http://www.bareoaks.ca/index.php/en/about-naturism/children.html

“In our own home my wife and I have no problem with
nakedness, neither ours nor anyone else's.
When someone is coming into our home who is not aware of our situation
we do try to advise them before they arrive. . . They can go ahead with their
scheduled visit and take whatever is the situation when they arrive, the option
is to not arrive at all. Of course then
might come another discussion about anything in the way of an alternative can
be arranged for the visit. When we (or
just I) are naked and a person is clothed in our own home it isn't a problem at
all. (for us!). When there are several
naked people in our home (mainly family members) there isn't usually a problem
when a clothed person arrives because we will have pre-advised them of the
situation. We do however notice two
different sets of 'feelings' that occur with the clothed persons in these
scenario's. If we have just ourselves
(or myself) naked and there are one or more clothed persons in the situation
there is no awkward feelings for anyone.
When there are several naked people and one clothed person in the
situation, it is the one clothed person who begins (usually) to feel awkward
and embarrassed, even with the standard preliminary advice being given. So, just in this 'home' scenario we have
deduced that one clothed person with a few naked people feels wrongly
placed. However, one naked person with a
few clothed people does not feel wrongly placed?” – Patrick Thompson, http://www.naktiv.net/blog/946/is-there-a-problem-at-all/

“I started enjoying nudism by sleeping in the
nude. Later I began to do my work around
the house nude. My wife was surprised
when I came downstairs nude one day and I could tell her reluctance. One late summer day after working on the boat
I was really warm so I drove over to the lake.
Since it was mid-evening there were very few people at the beech so it
was able to find a secluded area. I
walked into the lake and when chest deep took off my swimsuit. It felt amazing. Before I walked out of the water, so as to

“In order to raise confident, well-adjusted children
who have a healthy view of their bodies and their selves (we say, Body
Positive), we do not hide our naked bodies from them . . . Children learn by
observing. . . [seeing parents] ashamed, running away, covering up, they will
internalize that behavior as ‘normal,’ and they will learn to also feel shame
in their nakedness, rather than self-worth.
And there is nothing healthy about that. . . honest dialogue takes care

“My only complaint with social nudity and going to a nudist camp is that we
didn’t do it sooner. We’re in our 40s
now and life is busier than ever. I wish
we had discovered this when we had more time without the demands of kids, jobs and
families. Like anything you try for the
first time, it is a little scary and intimidating but when you do this with
your spouse, you’ll find that it’s a wonderful shared experience. It’s funny but you come here to see what it
feels like to be outside and around others naked. What you find is that it becomes what the two
of you do together while you’re naked, and I’m not talking about sexual
intimacy either. You’ll find that you go
skinny dipping, you lay out by the pool, you have lunch (we recommend bringing
a picnic lunch and beverages), it’s playing volleyball or tennis, fishing,
camping, it’s talking with new friends, it’s taking a long walk or sitting by a
fire pit. It’s what you do together and
you just happen to be naked and no one cares.” – https://ourclothingoptionaltrips.wordpress.com/2015/05/31/its-summer-its-time-to-get-naked-ten-answers-to-naked-your-questions/

“[When a couple practices naturism together] . . .
they have learned to not respond to unclothed bodies sexually, the images they
see from all sides are seen for the illicit and dehumanizing falsehood that
they are. Rather than attracting the
man’s attention as a temptation, the images sadden him because they degrade the
true beauty that he knows resides in a woman’s body. . . Because the man has
learned that sexual appeal is not based upon the display of skin, but in the
depth of relationship, the revealing attire of women he interacts with does not
stir inappropriate thoughts or responses.
He is not distracted by their attire.
He avoids staring at her form not because it is dangerous to him, but
because it would simply be impolite.
Personal temptations that he must avoid have to do with guarding his
heart emotionally rather than guarding his eyes. . . When the man feels the
physical desire for sexual release, he will think of being with his wife, for
it is only in his relationship with her that he experiences sexual
excitement. The temptation from other
women is very small because none have the relationship with him that his wife
does, and the simple sight of a woman does not excite him.” - Pastor Ed, http://mychainsaregone.org/lies/renewed-view/#sthash.O3JmMfsf.dpbs

“Today, textile products are continually overtly and
covertly marketed to almost every single human being on the planet from birth

effective that many of us have come to believe that we could not live without

“It is our culture that programs us to believe that we
should be experience arousal or sexual urges when we see someone naked. Nudity, sex, and lust form an unholy trinity
only because that is what our culture, particularly through religion, has been
telling us all our lives. There are
cultures in the world where this is simply not the case; cultures in which
people live together in harmony without clothing and no one is aroused by it. Many more such cultures existed before the
arrival of Western missionaries who taught them otherwise. . . If you can put
aside your preconceived notions about nudity and experience nudism with an open
mind, the conditioning, in many cases, quickly falls away. . . Wearing clothing
is not natural, it is primarily a cultural phenomenon and sometimes it is
necessary in order to live in harmony with others. We learn to wear clothing.” - http://mojoreisen.com/blog/?p=1858

. a beautiful day, sunny and looking to get warm . . . by the time I got to the

if I dared risk taking off my clothes. . . But I hadn't seen anyone for a while
so I reckoned I should just give it a go. No sooner had I got my clothes off
then I heard steps behind me. A woman with her young daughter were walking up
the path behind me . . . I got the shock of my life but did my best to keep my
cool and told them I hoped I hadn't startled them. She . . . suggested . . .
that my clothes might have got soaked in the spray of the waterfall on the way
up. . . She even said they had taken their own clothes off through that part .
. . Then off they went. . . I can't have been going for more than a few minutes
when I heard someone else behind me! No time to cover up, so I turned to brazen
it out. It was a female park ranger! Now I was really busted! But she wished me
good morning with nothing more than a smile... and a warning that she was about
to meet a bunch of teenagers waiting round the next bend and I might want to
cover up. . . from that point on, for the next five or six hours, I walked up
and back along the valley trail, completely nude, without meeting a single
person. . . I'm very grateful to the two women I bumped into for being so

The sights, sounds, and smells one encounters in the woods in the rain
are intoxicating. . . you also don't see as many people on the trail. I have been entirely warm and comfortable
hiking naked in the rain in temperatures ranging from the mid-forties on

fighting the wicking and evaporative cooling effect of wet textiles against
your skin. Also gone is the frustration
of trying to keep textiles dry with clumsy raingear. My tactic in cooler wet weather, when
possible, is to hike naked, keeping my gear dry inside my pack, ready to put on
when I stop moving for an extended time.” – FreewalkerMA

“It would be a step toward better psychological and
physical health if we could accept public nudity in a matter-of-fact way at
least to a limited extent. Certainly no
one would be harmed by such a practice in designated areas and at designated
times for specific legitimate purposes as sunbathing, exercising and for
various sports. Many people have enjoyed
nude jogging, swimming, sunbathing and other similar activities in secluded
places for years. Not everyone has
convenient access to isolated places where this can be done privately without
possible offense to others. It would be
an appropriate use of public areas such as parks to have designated,
clothes-optional, areas and times when legitimate nude activities are
permitted. Actually, it could be argued
that it's even more appropriate to turn the situation around and designate
times and places where clothes must be worn (textile areas) so that those who
are offended by the natural body state and who are unable or unwilling to
separate nudity and sexuality, can assemble together without fear of having to
deal with nature and the truth.” – Dr. Conrad Manning, MD

giving up worldly pleasure and adopting a pure and holy attitude.” – Jordan

“We have our own pool and hot tub ... rarely do either
of us get in either with a suit on.
There are occasions when textile friends stay with us and have asked
about the use of the pool and hot tub while naked. We've told them that we always use them naked
and they seem like they are ready to give it a try but chicken out and we end
up in suits ... we hate it, but like our friends. This summer, we've used our pool quite a bit
more than the previous year. Lots of
yard work being done and since we are always naked, we just stop planting and
trimming and cleaning up and dive in the pool to cool off. My wife will usually towel off a bit but I just
keep working while wet. We love having
our own pool and hot tub and private backyard.
Wouldn't have it any other way.
My wife has owned the same swimsuit for about 10 years. She's worn it maybe about a dozen times and
most of those times were this summer on a trip to Hawaii with the family! She hates wearing a suit and will sometimes
just opt out of getting in the pool or hot tub, when we have textile family and
friends over, because she doesn't want to wear a suit. She'll just sit on the edge of the pool or
spa and put her feet in and socialize.” – AndyDi, https://www.truenudists.com/forum/viewthread.php?id=85262&page=1

Naked
Weekend with Friends
Two naturist friends from Tucson visited us this
weekend (6/15-17/2018). I earlier reported
on our Friday Sycamore Canyon freehike.
Saturday, it rained most of the day, but cleared up
early evening enough to walk the trails on our land together naked. Walking naked in nature is a wonderfully
spiritual experience. All are welcome to
visit our place
Sunday, I watered our garden and walked our trails meditating
(naked of course). Then went to church
with Amy. Later in the morning our
friends also enjoyed walking our trails together naked.
That afternoon seven freehikers gathered together on
the Mingus Mountain Freehiking trail. We
had a wonderful time walking and talking together. Freehiking is an amazing, freeing experience. I encourage everyone to try it, especially if
you can hike with others.
After the hike, four of us drove over to Jerome for a
hamburger, the end to a wonderful naked weekend with friends.

“There is a great nude hike in Southern California to
Deep Creek Hot Springs. It’s about 2
miles from the parking lot to the hot springs, and you can do all of it nude,
then soak in the hot springs.” – Dan, From my past kenfreehiker blog

“. . . being a naked mommy is a wonderful
experience. I’ll admit, it was much
easier when they were little. . . As they got older, we started to have
conversations with them regarding their bodies, so they would feel comfortable
coming to us with questions or concerns they had about themselves. . . Being a
naked mommy is a rich and rewarding experience that changes from day to day. .
. I love my kids and I hope that I’ve instilled in them the values and
confidence they need to be successful in life.” – Grisel, http://www.naktiv.net/blog/915/the-naked-mommy/
“Germany’s third largest city, Munich, has legalized
public nudity by introducing six designated nudist zones. Since last autumn – when statewide laws
stopping nude sunbathing expired – the issue of public nudity has been debated
in the city. It has now been decided
that nudists are officially welcome to strip.
The six designated nudist areas are not fenced off or hidden away,
although their location in parkland grants them a degree of privacy. One nudist zone is situated in a main tourist
spot along a stream, which is barely 10 minutes away from Munich’s main
square. Public nudity in Munich has gone
on for years, and it is common to see people walking around unclothed in
several spots in the city, such as the Englischer Garten, and various spots
along the Isar River.” - OS NATURISTAS Team, https://naturistdiary.wordpress.com/2014/04/16/nudity-no-longer-naughty-in-munich-2/

“In time female bare-chestedness will be as normal as
male bare-chestedness and no one will care anymore. . . Equality is
inalienable. It is not the result of a
popularity contest. It is not subject to
a referendum. A majority cannot declare
equality invalid . . . The movement to normalize female bare-chestedness
celebrates equality, body confidence, anti-shaming and civil maturity, not
wanton sexuality and exhibitionism.
Women have been made to feel shame about our bodies for the entire
existence of our great nation and we are standing up and declaring an end to
it.” - Chelsea Covington, https://breastsarehealthy.wordpress.com/2015/12/15/open-letter-to-nh-house-regarding-proposal-to-forbid-female-bare-chestedness/
