“At some point in time, the person that was not raised in a nudist household but now finding it a very appealing way of living, this person will need to decide whether to throw the full weight of their belief into LIVING it.  That may mean composing a note, card or letter to family members, roommates or friends and writing something such as, ‘I have a new sense of being and a new connection to myself.  I feel healthier and happier without clothing, so I am asking if you all will ACCEPT me as this person?” - http://centauri4-naturism.tumblr.com/post/150861301126/thehomenudist-home-nudity-is-the-easiest-way-to

“The long tradition of nudism and communudism in Crimea is currently threatened by the invasion of the peninsula by Russian soldiers directed by ultra-reactionary Vladimir Putin.  Nudists and communudists from around the world must protest against the threat to their activities posed by Putin’s plans to annex Crimea.  Proletarian nudity could become a crime in Crimea if Putin takes control of the peninsula.” - Chus Martinez, https://chusmartinez1.wordpress.com/2014/03/16/nudism-in-crimea/

“Leaving nothing to the imagination can remove the extreme reaction to something, thus normalizing it.  The sight of nudity is no exception.  Done in the right context, exposure to nudity can improve a man’s attitude toward the female body, treating them with respect and civility in any state of dress.” – Tom Pine, The Naked Truth Naturists Newdsletter, v. 18, #4, http://www.thenakedtruthnaturists.com/Portals/0/The%20Naked%20Truth%20Naturists%20Newdsletter_vol_18_no_04.pdf

QUOTES 2/28/2020

There is a spiritual kind of nudity people can share with each other - know it exists and can be easily experienced by anyone willing to open their heart to the experience.  Sex is something else, more complex, more involved, but its built on a foundation of spiritual nudity.  It is possible to love, honor and trust someone enough to be spiritually nude WITHOUT going to that other place - know that, love it and respect anyone willing to be that way with you!” - http://centauri4-naturism.tumblr.com/post/138992610321/kissmebeneaththepines-cabin-nudes-love-you

“There’s nothing as fun as hanging out nude with your friends in the sun and playing volleyball, frisbee, swimming, sunning, reading, joking, and laughing.  If you’ve never had a day nude at the beach, lake, or pool with your friends, you are missing out on a great time!” - http://centauri4-naturism.tumblr.com/post/141991521656/heartlandnaturists-theres-nothing-as-fun-as

“While initially I was a very shy boy, when I became a teenager I realized that opening up to others has its own pleasures.  I found more satisfaction in discarding any shame attached to my body, and I began to feel the urge to reveal myself as I truly am, without getting too concerned with other people’s opinions.  I was around 14 years old when I decided to be a nudist.” - http://www.nakedwanderings.com/2017/04/20/naturist-talks-john-malta/

“When I was in my early teens we lived in the mountains of North Carolina.  From our house you could walk for miles in the woods, and I would do that often naked.  Most of the time I would carry my clothes with me, a couple times I felt like taking the risk of leaving them behind.  I never encountered anyone.” – tnjeditor, http://www.nudelife.org/showthread.php?tid=140

“I normally decorate nude, mainly for practical reasons.  However, much dust and paint I get on me, it all washes off far more easily than on clothes.  Even textiles should decorate in the nude.” – Penworthem, http://www.naturist-corner.net/community/index.php?topic=9857.2425;topicseen

QUOTES 2/26/2020

“I'm in my mid 40's and have been getting my kit off for years firstly as a teenager wandering off from family on holiday and enjoying being unencumbered by swimwear.  In my 20's I went to the Alton swim on a Sunday night and I've been to Abbey House Gardens once.  I've been on holiday to places where nudity is OK and I'm inclined to look for that when going away. . . after work . . . I don't bother getting dressed.  I hate wearing a costume in a sauna though.  My other half has no interest in being nude . . . there is enough space in our partnership for us each to do our thing. . . I’m just happy in my skin, with or without others who are.” – Misterg, http://www.naturist-corner.net/community/index.php?topic=22020.25;topicseen

“My wife and I are in New Mexico and backpack quite a bit.  There are many wilderness hot springs where maybe 75% of the time you're alone.  Then there are camp/picnic grounds that are built around hot springs.  It's pretty clothing optional – moms, kids, older folks.  I like being alone sometimes but it feels all warm and fuzzy to be around a group where people really don't think about it that much.” – 80mtn, https://www.reddit.com/r/nudism/comments/5mff19/social_vs_solo/

“Five famous people who enjoyed nakedness: Sir Ian McKellen (Actor), Sophie Monk (Actor), Suzanne McNaughton (Opera Star), Theodore Roosevelt (President), Thomas Eakins (Painter).

“. . . if society in general is ever going to accept us ‘nakeds,’ we’re going to have to push the envelope at every opportunity.  Don’t be a jerk about it, but assert your preference.  Be naked when you can and spread the good word. . . Don’t hide and don’t make apologies.” – Tom Pine, V 17, #12, http://www.thenakedtruthnaturists.com/Portals/0/The%20Naked%20Truth%20Naturists_vol_17_no_12.pdf

Exploring Badger Springs Wildlife Wash

On Monday, 2/24/2020, Amy and I explored a new freehiking spot near Badger Springs.  Rather than walking the trail down to the petroglyphs and the Agua Fria river (though that makes for a very nice hike as well), we headed up a sandy wash to the north.  We saw no one, not even tracks.  This "easy" wash was mostly sandy, about 5 feet wide.  The landscape was somewhat bare with low hills on each side.  The wash cut into the side at several places, exposing interesting dirt banks.  We saw several rabbits, quail, road runners, lizards, butterflies, and heard the beautiful sounds of Meadow Larks.  Amy tired and sent me on alone for about ten minutes - the wash just keeps going - I turned at a large fir tree.  She took the opportunity to sunbathe.  Amy thought it made  for a wonderful group freehike.  We enjoyed the sunny day freehiking perhaps three miles together - naked and joyful.

QUOTES 2/25/2020

“. . . several studies have shown that never before have so many people, of all ages, been open to nudism.  Some even state that about 10 percent of the world population has at one point in their lives enjoyed social nudity.  That’s about 600 million people.  This makes it hard to say that nudism is really dying. . . More people than ever give nudism a try and feel that they can talk openly about it.  The taboo that has been on nudity, historically and culturally, is slowly being conquered.  This is good news for the rest of the world as well, because a flourishing nudism culture is a clear measure for an open society. . . nudism is certainly not dying.” http://www.nakedwanderings.com/2017/05/08/future-nudism-part-one-facts/

“One myth of naturism is the stigma of tan lines.  They’re not a big deal . . . to worry about something so temporary.  The best thing about tan lines is that they can act as a gauge from when you started to when you forgot to care about them.  Good riddance.” – Made in the Nude., http://centauri4-naturism.tumblr.com/post/139946737586/madeinthenude-the-stages-from-wearing-a

“. . . nude people tend to be carefree, easy-going, and laid-back.” - Holly Johnson, http://www.travelpulse.com/news/cruise/6-reasons-to-consider-a-clothing-optional-cruise.html

“It has been said that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.  So what is in a name?  In certain circles there has been a debate about the meaning of the word ‘naturist’.  Some folks say that it is simply another word for nudism, meaning social, mixed-gender, non-sexual nudity.  Other folks insist it includes a oneness with nature, or even a natural setting.  Of course there are also those enemies of the movement who deliberately misuse it as a label for any sort of nakedness, however prurient.” - http://artdayonline.org/dailyart_201601/

“My father introduced me to nude swimming in the sea many many years ago.  I love being nude at any time but for practical purposes the best place is on a beach.  A secluded garden is also good.  I swim often in a local public pool and hate that I need to wear a costume.” – Patrick, http://spotnaked.com/5-reasons-to-drop-your-pants/2959/?utm_content=buffer5e6c3&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
