Trip Report from Steve and Dawn

Most are aware that Tom and Mary Clare sold their old property The Terra Cotta Inn a couple of years ago and it went textile - that was very sad as it was a great and charming property and they were such gracious hosts. But we got an e-mail last year from Tom informing us that one of the old Terra Cotta guests had purchased a new property in Palm Springs and was employing Tom and Mary Clare to run it and use the old name - this was great news!

We went there last week for four nights (Wednesday through Saturday) and had a lovely time! The new property is very nice but still has the same charm and has beautiful grounds - a more spacious pool, nicer rooms, and it has a little ‘crows nest’ to have lunch or dinner and is a great place to watch the lights in the city across the desert. Continental breakfast is nice and there are ‘snacks and refreshments’ at 4 PM in the dining area as well as wine and strawberries served up poolside by the man in the bow tie! (This used to be Tom’s job which he performed with much aplomb, but he passed it on to the new owner John).

There are beautiful gardens on the grounds and lovely fruit trees including a grapefruit the size of an oak!
