Route 66

The weekend of December 8, 2018 (Amy's birthday) we carnuded the longest remaining portion of old Route 66 from below Ash Fork, through Seligman and Kingman, to Bullhead City, where we camped and enjoyed the Nutcracker in Laughlin, NV.  Route 66 is a marvelous road to enjoy carnuding since there is little traffic and only two lanes, and carnuding is so very comfortable.  Route 66 even has Burma-Shave signs (remember those?). We enjoyed eating at Mr. D's diner in Kingman.  The road from there to Oatman got a little scary, so we wouldn't recommend it, though Oatman was very interesting with donkeys wandering through town.  We even found a nice trail for a future freehike.  It was mostly a wonderful birthday weekend.
