“Naturists are not ashamed, so don’t hide.” – Kensunwalker

Being a totally committed naturist requires you not hide.  Describe times you didn't.

  1. I think it depends on the situation. Better to hide/cover up and be able to go nude again than get arrested and put on some list right? That being said, if there is no danger of getting in trouble with the law or disrespecting children and their parents then we should absolutely be unashamed! Covering up and apologizing sends the message that what we do is immoral and offensive when it is neither. While I am still new to this, I am slowly becoming bolder. I am still uncomfortable being the only one nude with a bunch of textiles in close proximity. If there are other naturists around or if I am able to keep a distance of at least 100 feet than I seem to have far less discomfort. Last time I was camping I went for a free-hike and a skinnydip. When I started the hike I was the only person around but when hiking back I was able to see that two other groups had set up camp relatively close to my spot. I only had a towel with me and for a moment I thought about using it to cover up when I got close. The larger group (of about 8 people) had already seen me in the distance and didn't seem to care so I decided I wasn't going to cover up. I walked right up to and through the camp ground in nothing but some flip-flops. Everybody from both groups (about a dozen) behaved as if nothing was out of the ordinary. I returned their nods and waves while I walked to my truck.

  2. I agree with your post. Fear of nakedness is mostly in our heads. In most cases people don't care if they see you nude. After all, how will people become accustomed to nudity if they never see someone nude?
