Freehiking Hackberry Wash 2

On Monday, 3/30/2020, four of us freehiked Hackberry Wash, only about 20 minutes from our place in Dewey, at a trailhead just off Hwy 169.  We intended to hike nude up the main wash like last time but ended up taking a side wash to the north.  (There are so many washes in this area that it’s easy to get a little confused.)  However, taking the wrong wash turned out to be fortunate.  It wasn’t as wide and clear but went past some beautiful, unique rock formations.  We saw some beautiful Indian Paintbrush.  It was still an easy hike – a little uphill, mostly flat, with a sandy wash path.  And even though the weather was a little cool, it was still nice for freehiking, with just a little cool wind at the top ridge.  The distant views were fantastic.  Walkable sandy areas extended everywhere, making the hiking easy.  We eventually reached the same old dead tree ridge where Amy sat for a while us three guys hiked down to a unique rock formation where we took a few photos.  (From the ridge, Amy took some photos of us walking down to this area.)  As a group we then turned back and walked down the fence-line to the main wash and back to the trail head.  As always, we had to dress way too soon just before returning to the cars.  It was a short carnude home after this wonderful naked hike in nature.  As always, it was great to get out naked in nature and get some healthy sun, especially during this time of the virus.
