Orme Wash Freehike

On Monday, 4/20/2020, Amy and I freehiked the Orme Wash along with two other NNAZ members.   The wash is only about 20 minutes from our place in Dewey.  We met one member at Mortimer’s Farm parking lot, and the other member at the entrance to Orme Road.  We parked at an access point two miles down the road and were able to undress at the cars at the entrance to the wash.  This wash is easy, mostly sand, and gradually drops.  In fact, it is so sandy that you get tired of shuffling through the soft sand.  The weather was beautifully sunny; this is an ideal hike to take as the temperatures warm up.  Vegetation lines the banks, with mostly barren hills beyond.  The wash goes on for miles, but we turned around at dry bank and large juniper tree where we took a few photos, after perhaps two miles.  The way back was slightly uphill, and with the soft sand we frequently paused.  Under one large shade tree I built a sitting rock chair for Amy (there were few places to sit and rest).  Amy just made it; I’m sure the rest of us were tired.  On the way back I found and carried another rock for our rock garden.  After a wonderful naked hike in nature, we said goodbye to the others and drove back home.  I carnuded; Amy wore her sun dress.   As always, it was a great to spend the day together naked in nature.
