Prescott Area Freehikes

On Monday 5/18/2020, Amy and I freehiked four trails near Prescott Arizona down Highway 89.  While the first three of the trails were mostly uphill and short, we did run across an abandoned home site, a snake, and some beautiful terrain and views.  Still, we rejected them for future group hikes.  However, the fourth hike was perfect – flat, scenic, easy, and with a cool stream!  It had obviously seen some traffic in the past, but we didn’t see anyone.  It started with a number of holes obviously dug to stop vehicles.  Soon the trail branched – we took the single-track trail to the left.  It meandered along a steam – perfect for soaking tired feet.  The scenery was wonderful as it passed through tall pines.  The trail just kept going – I’m not sure where - but we soon tired and turned back to the car where we reluctantly dressed as we had to do some shopping on the way home, and Amy promised me a Chinese lunch.
