Badger Springs Acacia Wash

On Monday, 3/23/2020, five of us enjoyed a group freehike in the Acacia Wash in the Agua Fria area near Badger Springs.  There must have been a recent rainstorm – water was pooled everywhere.  We parked at the trail head and headed north.  Several cars were parked near the entrance to the wash, but we continued anyway.  Tracks showed someone had recently walked their dog a little way up the wash, but we didn’t see anyone and soon the tracks stopped.  At first, a little water was running down the wash making the sand soft; soon the sand dried.  The temperature was cool but nice.  Soon we were able to disrobe in safety.  We were able to walk quickly because we had cleared some brush blocking the way on our last freehike.  It was wonderful enjoying the outdoors naked together.  Amy stopped to wait at the large tree as the guys continued to the top of the ridge where we encountered a dirt road.  We took a few photos and headed back.  Amy took our photo behind a cactus by the large tree.  Along the way we saw beautiful vegetation and scared up a flock of quail and a rabbit.  After we dressed and were leaving the wash, we met a gal riding her bike with her dog running along.  She asked what we had seen on our trek; I replied ‘nothing”.  Amy said “that’s why we went that way.”  Too soon we reached our parked cars and said goodbye to our freehiking friends.
